#pxp_termin: Road Work Sessions – Activate Europe. Online only?

Activate Europe. Online only?

Thinking about Europe these days is a tricky task: There are these big institutions often perceived as cumbersome, bureaucratic and distant, especially by the young European generation. And yet, there is this sense of belonging to Europe: Many young people feel part of it, but they are unsatisfied with the current situation. They want a chance to be heard! How can the young generation reach those “old men” sitting in Brussels?

For some, the answer has been to express their disappointment by voicing their demands and engaging in debate online. The many initiatives that have blossomed show that the young generation cares and is concerned - much in contrast to the popular criticism - and wants to have a say in what is going on in Europe.

The European Democracy Lab, in cooperation with Publixphere, is glad to invite you to our first Road Works Sessions event “Activate Europe. Online only?” to discuss together some of the following issues: How can online initiatives have an impact on the offline politics? How can we convince other people to become active? How can we overcome language barriers? We will invite representatives of four young and new initiatives, who will present their projects and engage in an open discussion about the challenges of online activism.

About Road Works Sessions: The goal of this new project is to gather smart and inspired people to exchange innovative ideas for a new Europe. We want to create a space in Berlin for European debate and discussion. Every guest will be actively taking part in the discussion. You don’t need previous knowledge, just a wish to participate!
